Meet That's My Wild Peculiar Pet

Who Am I

Hi, I’m Stefanie — the heart, hands, and sometimes the chaos-wrangler behind That’s My Wild Cat Cattery and That’s My Peculiar Puppy Kennel here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Nestled in the upper-central region of Washington State, my home is shared with a wonderfully wild mix of furry, fluffy, and occasionally naked companions who make every day an adventure.

I’ve been raising Chinese Crested dogs for 9 years and Maine Coon cats for over 5 years, though my journey with animals started long before that. As a child, I was surrounded by Great Danes, Dobermans, Wolf Hybrids, American Pit Bull Terriers, and my family’s beloved English Springer Spaniels. My very first hamster lit the spark — and that spark grew into a lifelong passion.

Over the years, I’ve also worked with Savannah cats and still occasionally welcome a special Savannah–Maine Coon cross as I develop a new breed I lovingly call the Skoon. Whether it’s a new project or a familiar favorite, I continue learning, researching, and improving the way I raise and care for my animals.

Health and temperament are always my top priorities.
All of my breeding animals are Wisdom Panel–tested and cleared for everything currently screened, and I’m steadily working toward hip and heart certifications for my lines. I may personally love certain colors, but they never dictate my breeding decisions — healthy, confident, well-socialized babies come first, always.

Every kitten and puppy is raised in my home, underfoot, and as part of the family, ensuring constant enrichment and socialization. Puppies are pad-trained or litter-trained depending on the season, and kittens always leave fully litter box–trained. Before going home, all babies receive vet exams, age-appropriate vaccinations, and any necessary deworming. Kittens go home already spayed or neutered, while puppies are placed on a spay/neuter contract.

My Maine Coons are bold, beautiful, and sweet — with coats that are plush but manageable, and sizes ranging from 12 to 25 pounds when fully grown. I avoid breeding exaggerated sizes to protect long-term health and mobility.
My Chinese Cresteds, both hairless and powderpuff varieties, are charming, playful, and often downright clownish. These little “potato chips” range from tiny 3-pounders to sturdy 16-pound companions.

I don’t show my animals or focus on strict breed perfection. Instead, I prioritize healthy pets who will thrive in loving homes, and my pricing reflects my mission: family companions first, show dogs or future breeders second.

I offer lifetime support for every kitten and puppy I place. Whether you need advice, reassurance, or just want to send a cute update (my favorite surprise in any day!), I’m always here. Transportation options vary — from pickups to meet-ups to Spokane Airport delivery — and we can chat about what works best for you. Waiting lists and deposits usually begin once a litter is confirmed.

Breeding isn’t just a hobby for me; it’s a calling. I juggle this with a full-time job and raising my incredible teenage daughter, and my family loves to remind me that I simply wouldn’t be complete without my mini animal farm keeping life interesting.

I would love to welcome you into my wonderfully wild, peculiar, and always loving family of companions — and help you find the furry (or naked!) little soul who will brighten your home for years to come.
